Reinventing Retail Rituals: Trends & Identity in collaboration with Kühne Wicki and Jelmoli Zürich
Rituals are not definable, always have a larger context. They are relatively stable, repetitive and symbolic sequences of action and are located spatially and temporally.
In connection with the project, we have asked ourselves the following questions: Which rituals shape our purchasing behaviour? How do shopping rituals change in the course of digital change? What will a shopping ritual feel like in the future? How can we recognize our individual needs?
Contrary to the forecast of Jelmoli Zurich, Trends & Identity decided after the research phase in the field and the Cultural Probes to create a mostly analog, highly individual shopping experience with the possibility to use all senses. Short film by Deborah Rhyner (https://decharess.com).
